accident

During a photo shoot in Iceland in April 2014 , the team left the normal ski touring route to a steep, icy slope. Allmann slid down the valley without braking, after 150 meters of altitude she fell over a ledge and overturned. Again and again she hit rocks, shattering her right and left knee and left shoulder. Her muscles, ligaments, tendons, and the main artery of the right leg tore. 100 meters from the fjord in the valley, she was able to brake the fall with the last of her strength. In total, it fell 800 meters. Her right leg was without blood for eight hours before the operation.

Allmann accuses Burda-Verlag of misconduct in the organization and implementation of the shoot. Accordingly, it took place on the day of the accident without a professional, local mountain guide . The team also left the safe ski touring route recommended by mountain guide Jökull Bergmann 300 meters. In the end, an out-of-court settlement was reached.
