Convoy PQ 7A
The convoy PQ 7A was an allied northern sea convoy , which was put together in December 1941 in the Icelandic Hvalfjörður and brought essential war goods to the Soviet Murmansk . The Allies lost a freighter with 5135 GRT.
Composition and securing
The convoy PQ 7A consisted of two cargo ships. On December 26, 1941 he left Hvalfjörður ( Lage ) in the direction of Murmansk ( Lage ). The trawlers HMS Hugh Walpole and HMS Ophelia were responsible for local safety .

On January 2, 1942, U 134 sank the freighter Waziristan (5135 GRT). The freighter Cold Harbor reached Murmansk on January 12th , guided by the Soviet destroyer Uritsky .
