Kameno ( Bulgarian Камено ) is a city and administrative center of a municipality of the same name in southeastern Bulgaria in the Burgas Oblast . Kameno is located in the Burgas Plain on the banks of the Ajtoska River, around ten kilometers west of Burgas . Kameno is the center of the municipality of the same name . The village of Swoboda is located in the town's lands .
Close to the city is LUKOIL Neftochim Burgas, the largest refinery on the Balkan Peninsula . The Burgas-Sofia railway line runs through the city. After the Balkan Wars (1912–1913), refugees from Thrace (→ Thracian Bulgarians ) settled in Kamemo . There is a Chitalishte in Kameno that was founded in 1927.
