Sungurlare ( Bulgarian Сунгурларе ) is a small Bulgarian town and administrative center of a municipality of the same name in the east of the country in the Oblast (district) Burgas . The region is known for its viticulture and its wineries. The famous “Sungurlaski Misket ” grapevine is grown here.

Sungurlare is located in the Upper Thracian Plain , around 80 km northwest of Burgas . The administrative center of the neighboring municipality of Karnobat is around 25 km away . Five major roads cross in Sungurlare.

The municipality borders in the north on the Shumen Oblast , in the east on the municipality Ruen in the south on the municipality Karnobat and in the west on the Oblasts Sliven and Yambol .
