Community Armed Forces Leader (Schleswig-Holstein)
A community firefighter designates the head of a volunteer fire brigade in a district belonging to Schleswig-Holstein . In independent cities he is called the city fire chief. This also applies to municipalities that consist of different localities. The local / district fire brigades are led by the local fire brigade.
Election and appointment
The community armed forces / local armed forces leader is elected by secret ballot at the general meeting of his community or place for a period of six years. The prerequisites for the election are membership in the active department for at least 4 years, that they have personal and professional qualifications, have completed the necessary courses or undertake to do them within two years and have not yet reached the age of 61 ( does not apply to re-election). The appointment requires the consent of the municipality.
tasks
The community / local defense leader is for:
- Operational readiness of the volunteer fire brigade,
- Training of fire brigade members and
- Advising the mayor on all fire-fighting issues.
Insinuation
The local armed forces leaders of the individual villages are subject to the community armed forces leader.
According to § 7 (3) law on fire protection and the assistance of the fire services, the head of the professional fire service is responsible for all fire services in the city area. It follows that the community armed forces leader is subordinate to the head of the professional fire brigade.
Ranks
The rank of the community / local armed forces leader and his deputy depends on the population of his community or his place.
