Ranks of the fire brigade in Schleswig-Holstein

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ranks of the fire brigade in Schleswig-Holstein describe the position of a person within the fire brigade in Schleswig-Holstein . The award of ranks depends on qualification, function and length of service.

Volunteer firefighter

The ranks of the volunteer fire brigade are based on the fire brigade organization decree of July 7, 2009. The appearance of the rank badges is based on the uniform regulations for the fire brigades in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Rank badges are only worn on so-called service clothing (on the shoulder flap on a jacket, pullover or cardigan or shirt and in the form of a cord on the service cap), but not on protective clothing.

Awarding and awarding period

The ranks up to and including fire supervisor are assigned by the local or community defense guides. In the case of two memberships (for example, once at the place of residence and once at the place of work), the fire brigade in which the comrade lives promotes (Heimatwehr). The ranks for executives (from senior fire chief) are assigned by the city or district defense management (up to and including the rank of first chief fire chief) or by the employer.

According to the current organizational decree of the Ministry of the Interior, executives (from chief fire-fighting master) with appropriate training only carry their rank for the period of the corresponding activity, after which they receive the rank of fire-fighting master. Exceptions only apply to members of the reserve department who continue to have the rank they were in when they joined the reserve department. In practice, however, former executives tend to retain their rank even if they quit before moving to the reserve department. Demotions due to leaving a function are very rare. Depending on their training, the deputies bear the rank below.

The rank of main firefighter *** / main firefighter *** is linked to the function as a member of the board of directors, as a safety officer or as a fire protection trainer or fire protection investigator.
