The small narrow-headed buck ( Stenurella melanura , syn .: Strangalia melanura ), also known as the common narrow-headed buck and black-tailed narrow-headed buck , is a species of the longhorn beetle family (Cerambycidae).
features
The little Schmalbock is a beetle between six and nine millimeters long with a black basic color. The wing covers of the females are red on the outside and have a wide black wing cover seam and a black tip. The elytra of the slimmer males are brown and have a darker tip with a slightly less pronounced black markings.
Occurrence
This species of beetle occurs in Europe , Siberia , Northern Mongolia and in the Caucasus on sunny forest edges, in mixed coniferous forests, spruce - pine forests and on alpine and mountain meadows and can be found up to low mountain ranges.
Way of life
The adults can be found on various flowers from May to September, especially on umbels , and feed on pollen . The larvae prefer the rotten wood of deciduous and coniferous trees , especially thin, lying twigs, in which they develop into an imago within two years .
