Geoff Elliott

Geoff Elliott (actually Geoffrey Michael Elliott ; born April 7, 1931 in Ilford, London Borough of Redbridge ) is a former British pole vaulter and decathlete .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he was ninth in the decathlon and eliminated in the pole vault in qualification.

In 1954 he won the pole vault for England starting at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver and was eighth in the shot put . At the European Athletics Championships in Bern , he won bronze in the pole vault.

In 1958 he came 17th in the pole vault at the European Championships in Stockholm and defended his title at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff .

In 1952, 1953 and 1955 he was English champion in pole vault.

He is married to former hurdler Pam Seaborne .
