Geoffrey Beevers

Geoffrey Beevers (born January 15, 1941 in Chichester , Sussex , United Kingdom ) is a British actor .

Life

1970 to 1981 Geoffrey Beevers was seen as a master in the British television series Doctor Who . He was the third actor to play the master, an opponent of the doctor . Many more appearances in film and television followed. For example, he was seen in the TV movie MacGyver - Hunt for the Treasure of Atlantis . This was based on the successful television series MacGyver . In 1995 he played Harroldson in the film Downtime . He also played Brian Rutherford in two of the PROBE films.

In addition to his appearances in film and television, Beevers also worked as a theater actor. In 2012 he played Fray Antonio in the play The Heresy of Love . In 2015, he starred alongside Helen Mirren in Peter Morgan's play The Audience . He also writes plays and directs. Among other things, he wrote an adaptation of George Eliot's novel Middlemarch . He won the Time Out Award for his adaptation of George Eliot's Adam Bede .

Geoffrey Beevers was married to the actress Caroline John until her death . The couple had a daughter and two sons. On June 5, 2012, his wife died of cancer.
