The Geometry Engine Open Source ( GEOS ) is a free program library in C ++ for handling two- and 2.5-dimensional geometries and is a port of the JTS Topology Suite programmed in Java .

The library is used in PostGIS , in the Python programming package Shapely and in the Python Cartographic Library (PCL).
