Georg Bauer (Canon)
Georg Bauer (born March 23, 1843 in Neu-Arad , Kingdom of Hungary , Austria-Hungary ; † November 6, 1925 in Timișoara , Kingdom of Romania ) was a papal prelate , vicar general and canon of the Cenad diocese , and since 1916 holder of the Order of the Iron Crown .
Live and act
Georg Bauer attended the Piarist High School in Timisoara from 1854 to 1862 . In 1862 he began studying theology here. In 1863 he moved to the Pest Central Seminary , where he was ordained a priest on July 25, 1867 .
Bauer began his priestly career as a chaplain in Aradsanktmartin (1867–1868), spiritual in the Temeswar Emericanum (1868–1869), catechist (1869–1870) and from 1904 spiritual at the Josefstadt teacher training institute of the Notre-Dame monastery school . From 1886 he was director of this institution.
In 1892 Bauer was made an honorary canon , in 1900 diocese censor and in 1904 rector of the small seminary and the Konvikt . From 1906 Bauer was canon of the Cenader diocese, from 1910 administrator of the diocesan property and from 1912 cathedral dean . In 1917 he had his secondary celebration (the 50th anniversary of the priesthood) in Timisoara. Shortly thereafter, Bauer became vicar general of the diocese and papal prelate.
Bauer died in 1925 as a canonicus and cantor . He was buried by administrator Augustin Pacha in the cathedral crypt in Timisoara.
