Georg Brunner (hockey player)
Georg Brunner (born December 15, 1897 in Leipzig , † November 16, 1959 ) was a German hockey goalkeeper .
Georg Brunner belonged to the dominant German hockey club in the 1920s, the Leipziger SC . He made his debut in 1927 in the German national hockey team . At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , five Leipzigers were part of the squad: Georg Brunner, Heinz Förstendorf , Werner Freyberg , Werner Proft and Rolf Wollner . Brunner was in goal in all four games in Amsterdam and conceded three goals, two of them in the defeat by the Dutch hosts. In the game for third place against Belgium, the German team won 3-0. Georg Brunner played a total of eleven international matches from 1927 to 1931.
