Georg Carl Kuhlmann

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Georg Carl Kuhlmann (* 1805 ; † 1868 ) was a German organ builder.

life and work

Carl Kuhlmann was born as the son of the organ builder Johann Dietrich Kuhlmann in Gottsbüren , learned his father's trade and later took over his workshop. There is evidence of works by Kuhlmann in Westphalia , where he was commissioned to build a number of new organs. It is possible that the connection there came about because a brother-in-law of his father's was an organ consultant in Höxter .
