After a severe fire in the city in 1822, the two of them organized the relief operations together. In 1830 he became dean . From 1837 to 1843 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Bavarian Estates Assembly for three electoral terms . He was a member of the committee for "Internal Administration Objects". In an assessment from 1839 he was considered “politically loyal to the government”, but would “be in opposition on religious issues”.
