Georg Günther (General Director)
Georg Günther (born September 2, 1869 in Ilsenburg , † May 13, 1945 in Vienna ) was a German - Austrian industrial manager .
Günther studied from 1888 to 1892 at the Montanist University in Leoben . During his studies he became a member of the Cruxia Leoben fraternity . In 1892 he joined the Witkowitz ironworks as a metallurgical engineer . Günther took on positions of responsibility in the economy of the Danube Monarchy early on .
From 1898 he was the central director of the Bohemian Mining Society . From 1904 to 1909 he was the general director of the Škoda works in Pilsen , during the First World War and afterwards he headed the Austrian Arms Factory . From 1923 to 1930 he was chairman of the administrative board of the Austrian Federal Railways . The multi-honored industrial manager left behind self-published memoirs in 1936.
