Georg Hüter (* 1948 in Seligenstadt ) is a German sculptor . His preferred material is basalt stone , from which he cuts out elementary, archaic forms.

Life

Hüter studied sculpture at the Frankfurt Städelschule with Professor Michael Croissant . From 1979 to 1981 he was assistant to Jürgen Weber in the architecture department of the TU Braunschweig for two years . He then taught for two years from 1981 to 1983 at the Hildesheim University of Applied Sciences. In 1989 he became head of the technical college for stone masons and stone sculptors in Aschaffenburg . He held this position until 1999. From 2004 to 2016 he had a teaching position at the Offenbach am Main University of Design . He lives and works in Schmerlenbach (Hösbach / Winzenhohl) near Aschaffenburg.
