Georg Hennig

Georg Hennig (born March 9, 1937 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian ambassador .

Life

Georg Hennig joined the foreign service in 1961. From 1961 to 1963 he was employed by the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs. From 1963 to 1966 he was employed by representations of the United Nations. From 1966 to 1970 he was employed by the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs. From 1970 to 1972 was employed in Madrid . From 1972 to 1975 he headed Kurt Waldheim's office . From 1976 to 1978 he headed the General Secretariat of the United Nations. From February 2, 1978 to 1982, he was ambassador to New Delhi . From 1983 to 1986 he was ambassador to Tokyo . From 1987 to 1992 he was special advisor to Kurt Waldheim . From 1992 to 1993 he was employed by the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs. From December 13, 1993 to July 25, 1996, he was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s .
