Georg Hoffmann-Ostenhof
Georg Hoffmann-Ostenhof (born October 6, 1946 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and editor for the Austrian news magazine Profil .
Life
Hoffmann-Ostenhof, who belonged to the Revolutionary Marxists (GRM) group in the 1970s , studied sociology and political science at the University of Vienna and the University of Michigan . Then he was foreign policy editor at the Extrablatt and from 1979 to 1991 deputy editor-in-chief of the Arbeiter-Zeitung , the then party organ of the SPÖ . Since 1991 he has headed the foreign policy department of profil and writes a weekly commentary on world events.
His brother is the theoretical chemist Thomas Hoffmann-Ostenhof , his father the biochemist Otto Hoffmann-Ostenhof .
