Georg Juffinger
Georg Juffinger (born July 3, 1853 in Hötting , Tyrol ; † December 6, 1913 in Gries-Quirein , South Tyrol ) was an Austrian laryngologist and university professor.
Life
Juffinger studied medicine at the University of Innsbruck and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD . He then worked at various clinics, choosing laryngology as a specialty. In 1892 he completed his habilitation as a private lecturer at the University of Vienna . Juffinger began his university career in 1893 as an honorary lecturer at the University of Innsbruck. In 1894 he became professor of otiatrics and laryngology and head of the newly opened university clinic for otolaryngology, an office which he held until his death. Juffinger's special research area was tuberous sclerosis and tuberculosis of the upper respiratory tract. Juffinger was a member of the Corps Athesia Innsbruck (1873) and the Corps Saxonia Vienna (1877).
