Georg Kempff
Georg Kempff (born October 22, 1893 in Jüterbog ; † September 1, 1975 in Reichenbach im Allgäu ) was a German church musician , composer and author .
Kempff studied theology in Berlin as well as piano , singing and music theory at the University of Music . From 1904 deputy organist in Potsdam , later travel organist . From 1923 to 1927 organist in Uppsala , from 1927 to 1930 pastor in Jüterbog and from 1930 to 1933 in Wittenberg . From 1933 to 1959 he was director of the Institute for Church Music in Erlangen (from 1937 as honorary professor), worked as an organist, pianist and singer (baritone) and from 1959 to 1962 as a lecturer at the University of Johannesburg . Kempff composed church music. He was the brother of Wilhelm Kempff .
