Georg Knill

Georg Knill (born January 2, 1973 ) is an Austrian entrepreneur. He is the managing partner of the Knill Group . On June 18, 2020 he was elected President of the Austrian Federation of Industrialists (IV).

Life

After primary school and secondary school in Weiz, Georg Knill attended the HTL Weiz from 1987 to 1992 (specialization in mechanical engineering / industrial engineering). He has been with the Knill Group since 1993 , and has been managing the group together with his older brother Christian Knill since 2002. He is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rosendahl Nextrom GmbH , a subsidiary of the Knill Group. From 2001 to 2008 he was chairman of the Junge Industrie Steiermark. In 2007 he became a board member of the Styrian Federation of Industry and the national board. From 2012 to 2016 he was Vice President of the Styrian Federation of Industry, and in 2016 he became its President.

On June 18, 2020, he was elected President of the Austrian Federation of Industrialists to succeed Georg Kapsch . For the first time in the history of the Federation of Industrialists, there was a battle vote, the opposing candidates were Martin Ohneberg and Wolfgang Eder . Knill was elected by the 120-strong board for a term of four years until 2024, in a runoff election he prevailed against Martin Ohneberg. Sabine Herlitschka and Philipp von Lattorff (Boehringer Ingelheim) were deputies for the term of office from 2020 to 2024 . Stefan Stolitzka became his successor as President of the Styrian Federation of Industry.

Knill is married and has two daughters.
