Sabine Herlitschka (born February 1, 1966 in Pfarrkirchen ) is an Austrian manager . Since 2014 she has been the CEO of Infineon Technologies Austria AG in Villach .

Life

Sabine Herlitschka grew up in Salzburg , where she graduated from the Wirtschaftskundliches Bundesrealgymnasium Salzburg (WRG Salzburg) in 1984 . She then completed a degree in food and biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). From 1990 she was a PhD student and later a researcher at Immuno AG . In 1994 she submitted her dissertation to BOKU. She also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management .

From 1996 she was head of department and deputy director of the Office for International Research and Technology Cooperation (BIT), from which the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) emerged in 2004 . From 2003 to 2006 she was Vice Rector for Research Management and International Cooperation at the Medical University of Graz . She then headed the European and International Programs department of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG until 2010 . In 2010 she was a Fulbright Scholar at George Washington University and the Johns Hopkins University / School of Advanced International Studies .

Since August 2011 she has been a member of the board of Infineon Technologies Austria AG , where she has been responsible for technology and innovation as board member since January 2012. Since April 2014, she has succeeded Monika Kircher as CEO of Infineon Technologies Austria AG.

She is a member of the Council for Research and Technology Development and the Styrian Research Council and was Vice President of the Ludwig Boltzmann Society until November 2018 . She was elected Deputy Chairwoman of the University Council of the Vienna University of Technology for the 2018-2023 term. In February 2018 she was elected chairman of ECSEL JU (Electronic Components and Systems for European Leadership Joint Undertaking) , a public-private partnership program operated by the European Union and its member states to strengthen the global innovation and competitiveness of electronic components and systems from Europe.

The news magazine Profil reported in June 2018 that the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) had been monitoring your email address as part of Germany's espionage activities in Austria since 2002 . The industry magazine , she was ranked 2,018 on the list of the most influential Austrian managers ranked 11th In 2019, she was ranked second on the list of the most influential women in Austrian business by the industry magazine.

On June 18, 2020 Georg Knill was elected President of the Austrian Federation of Industrialists (IV), Herlitschka became its deputy for the period from 2020 to 2024. At the beginning of July 2020, she was appointed chairman of the supervisory board of the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences .
