Georg Lohmann

Georg Lohmann (born June 6, 1948 in Münster ) is a German philosopher .

Life

Lohmann studied philosophy , sociology and political science at the Ruhr University Bochum , the University of Frankfurt , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg from 1968 to 1974 . After completing his master's degree, he studied sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science . From 1978 to 1983 he was a research assistant for philosophy at the Pedagogical University of Berlin and the Free University of Berlin . In 1986 he graduated from the Free University of Berlin with a dissertation on indifference and society. A critical examination of Marx on Dr. phil. PhD. He then worked as a research assistant to Michael Theunissen , with whom he completed his habilitation in 1992 .

From 1994 to 1996 he represented the professorship for practical philosophy at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg . He was also a visiting professor at the Institute for Philosophy at the University of Vienna . Since 1996 he has been professor for practical philosophy at the University of Magdeburg. In 2009/10 Lohmann was part of the research group at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University. He has been retired since October 2013.
