Georg Mählich

Georg Mählich (born June 27, 1880 in Steinau , Province of Silesia ; † in the 20th century) was a German police officer and chief of police in Waldenburg, Lower Silesia, and police director in Hamm .

Career

Georg Mählich attended high school in Fraustadt and began studying law without attaining a degree. He did his military service from 1905 to 1906 as a one-year volunteer with the 11th Grenadier Regiment in Breslau . He initially remained in the military, was released as a lieutenant and captain of the reserve. On February 1, 1909, Mählich came to the police as an officer candidate. Before he had to do military service from August 2, 1914 , he was employed as a Royal Police Lieutenant. He was wounded in combat operations near the Gumbinnen and was later taken prisoner by Russia. In 1921 he was employed as a police major in the air surveillance department in Holtenau, as a section commander in Kiel and in the Schleswig district government . In 1925 he came to the Osnabrück district government and later became the commander of the Osnabrück police force. From 1931 he was employed in the same function at Police Inspection II in Dortmund. Mählich received the order to lead the Hamm Police Department on March 15, 1933. On December 3, 1938, he was delegated to Karlsbad , where he was responsible for local and district police powers. From March 21, 1941 to 1945, he was police chief in Waldenburg.
