Borgocarbonara is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Mantua in southwestern Lombardy . The municipality belongs to the Oltrepò mantovano . The administrative center of the municipality is in the district of Carbonara di Po .

history

On January 1, 2019, the municipality was formed from the previously independent municipalities Borgofranco sul Po and Carbonara di Po.

geography

The municipality is located about 30 kilometers east-south-east of Mantua on the Po and borders directly on the province of Rovigo ( Veneto ). The Lago di Trebecca is located southeast of the municipality.
