Georg Paezel

Georg Willi Paezel (born September 15, 1880 in Potsdam , † November 12, 1951 in Berlin-Steglitz ) was a German cameraman and cinema technician .

Life

Paezel can be identified as a cameraman for feature films and documentaries between 1912 and 1926. Paezel worked in the 1910s for the film company of Karl Werner (Berlin / Cologne), to which he had switched from Oskar Messters Projections GmbH.

In 1912/13 he photographed four episodes of the series From the Life of a Multimillionaire , in 1913 three episodes of the detective series Miss Nobody with Senta Eichstaedt and in 1920/21 three episodes of the " Harry Hill " crime film series with Valy Arnheim . In 1925, together with Herbert Körner and Willy Großstück, he assisted the cameraman Willy Goldberger on recordings of the fight between the heavyweight boxer Hans Breitensträter and the later European champion Paolino Uzcudun in the Berlin Sports Palace . In 1926 he made a documentary about dental care for the Dresden Leo-Werke . During the transition from silent to sound films, he familiarized himself with the new technology in good time. In the official telephone directory for Berlin, born in 1936, he is registered as "sound film technician and cameraman".

In 1936 he lived in Berlin-Lichterfelde at Lorenzstrasse 16.
