Ressel Orla , actually Therese Ochs (born May 18, 1889 in Bozen , Austria-Hungary , † July 23, 1931 in Berlin , German Empire ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Ressel Orla began her career in 1907 at the Metropoltheater in Hanover . She then stayed in Hanover for the time being and played at the German Theater there and at the Schauburg . Then she worked in Düsseldorf until April 1911 and in Bad Nenndorf in May 1912 .

Then she came to Berlin, where she in trade of Salon Lady at the Residenz Theater drew attention to himself. Here she was discovered by Walter Turszinsky, who wrote the screenplay for the film The Company is getting married . In the following years she worked several times with the actor and director Ernst Lubitsch . Her most important role was probably that of Lio Sha in Fritz Lang's two-part play The Spiders in 1919 . Due to a serious illness that eventually led to her death, she had to give up her job in 1929.
