Georg Pallaske

Georg Pallaske (born April 14, 1898 in Herzogswaldau in the Freystadt district , † May 27, 1970 in Gießen ) was a German veterinarian and professor at the University of Leipzig and the University of Gießen .

Pallaske studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Dresden and at the University of Leipzig until he received his doctorate in 1924. med. in veterinary medicine with the dissertation contribution to the diagnosis of 'infectious anemia' in horses by means of the rabbit transmission test . He completed his habilitation in 1931 and became a lecturer at the University of Leipzig through studies on the course, pathogenesis and pathological anatomy of tuberculosis in pigs (contribution to the comparative study of animal tuberculosis) . During his studies he became a member of the Association of German Students in Dresden . In 1936 he was appointed director (Oberregierungsveterinärrat) of the state veterinary investigation office in Landsberg (Warthe) .

In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . From 1934 he was head of the Nazi lecturers' association for the veterinary medical faculty, member of the NSDAP and squad leader of an SA standard. The NSDAP certified him a tendency to “brooding scholarship”, but in 1939 he became a non-official extraordinary professor. 1945–1948 he worked as a freelance veterinarian in Quedlinburg .

1948–1950 he was head of department at the Veterinary Hygiene Institute at the University of Greifswald , and in 1950 he was appointed to the Faculty of Agriculture in Rostock. From 1951 to 1958 he taught again as a professor with a chair for general pathology and pathological anatomy of animals at the veterinary medicine faculty of the University of Leipzig. From 1958 to 1968 he was full professor for general pathology and pathological anatomy of animals at the University of Giessen .
