Georg Petz

Georg Petz (born December 21, 1977 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Georg Petz grew up in Pöllau (Styria) near Hartberg and lives in Graz. In his youth he took part in numerous literary competitions, literary workshops (e.g. Jugend-Literatur-Werkstatt Graz) and readings for young people (e.g. the Hartberg youth association jugend kulturt ).

From 1996 to 2003 he studied English and German at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz .

From 1999, he spent three years staff and chief editor of the student union newspaper point . From 2004 to 2006 he led the group for young people up to 18 years of age in the youth literature workshop in Graz .

In October 2003 he published his first independent publication, the story Overnight stays in Leykam Verlag . In 2005 the volume of short stories Die Anatomie des Parasitären (The Anatomy of the Parasitic) was published there and in 2006 the debut novel Die Tausend Jahre Nacht by the Lower Austrian publishing house Library of the Province.

Petz also published in literary magazines (e.g. clearings , manuscripts ) and anthologies. Including the Graz diary. The city in the mirror of its writers (Leykam 2004), air / air (Leykam 2004), catching votes. 50 fresh texts from Austria (Residency 2006) and From book to book. Fifty Years of Residenz Verlag (Residenz 2006).

Since the 2006/2007 school year he has been teaching German and English at the Hartberg grammar school .
