Georg-Rudolf August Schnurer (born April 19, 1960 in Coburg ) is a German journalist . He is the head of the service of the computer magazine c't .

Schnurer studied electrical engineering at the University of Hanover . His main focus was measurement technology and information electronics . He financed his studies through software consulting and the sale of hardware. On July 1, 1990, Schnurer began an internship at the Heinz Heise publishing house . In 1994 he became the chief editor for the Test & Technology department, was deputy c't editor-in-chief from 1995 to 2016 and has been in charge of the service since 2018. There he is particularly responsible for the hardware area .

Schnurer became known to a wider public alongside Mathias Münch as the presenter of the television program c't magazin.tv , which was produced by Hessischer Rundfunk from 2003 to June 2011 and broadcast in various third-party programs . In addition, from 1999 to 2012, a contribution by Georg Schnurer as an expert was an integral part of the program in the radio program "Escape" from Radio Eins ( RBB ). From March 16, 2014, Münch and Schnurer were “on the air” again: Now on YouTube in the Technik Ranch , a private project of the two moderators.
