Georg Stanitzek

Georg Stanitzek (born November 27, 1953 in Bensberg ) is a German general literary scholar and Germanist . He has been teaching at the University of Siegen since 2000 .

Stanitzek studied German, history and philosophy at the University of Cologne and at the University of Bielefeld with Professors Karl Heinz Bohrer , Jürgen Frese , Reinhart Koselleck , Niklas Luhmann and Wilhelm Voßkamp . In 1986 he received his doctorate in Bielefeld with a dissertation on "Stupidity" in the 18th century. 1996 habilitation he did a thesis on the German Present essay at the University of Cologne.

In 2000 he was appointed professor for German and general literary studies (with a focus on media and literary theory) at the University of Siegen. From 2008 to 2010 he was Dean of Faculty 3: “Linguistics, Literature and Media Studies”. In 2009 he turned down a call to the Ruhr University Bochum .

Stanitzek has been a member of the editorial board of Colloquy magazine since 2004 and has been co-editor of the Siegen series since 2006 . Contributions to literature, linguistics and media studies .

research

Stanitzek's research areas primarily include the history of concepts and historical semantics in the tradition of the Bielefeld School (as was the case with Reinhart Koselleck in particular). In particular, he contributed to the social history of literature with work on a number of social figures ( friend , project maker, genius , autodidact , dilettante , educated , philistine , bohemian ). Another focus of research is the book and its paratexts in a medial and historical comparison. His work on the film leader is particularly noted .
