Georg Urban (politician, 1925)
Georg Urban (born January 1, 1925 in Bremen , † 2005 in Bremen) was a German ship broker and politician ( CDU ).
biography
education and profession
Urban completed an apprenticeship as a shipbroker from 1939 to 1945. After the Second World War he worked as a worker and from 1949 as a commercial clerk and was active as a ship broker for over 50 years.
politics
Urban joined the CDU in 1949: He was district and state chairman of the Christian Democratic Workers' Union (CDA) in Bremen.
The " Herz-Jesu-Sozialist " was a member of the Bremen citizenship for around 20 years from 1971 to 1991 and worked in various deputations and committees of the citizenship.

- After 1945 Urban became head of the Catholic parish youth .
- In 1948 he founded the Christian Workers' Youth (CAJ) in Bremen.
- He participated in the founding of the city , state and federal youth council .
- He later worked as district chairman of the Catholic Workers' Movement (KAB) in Bremen.
- He was an honorary Bremen state social judge .
- He wrote books on the Christian social movement.
