Georg von Braunschweig (General, 1845)
Georg Wilhelm von Braunschweig (born August 26, 1845 in Lissomitz near Thorn , West Prussia , † August 11, 1911 in Blankenburg (Harz) ) was a Prussian infantry general .
Life
Braunschweig was made a lieutenant in 1863 . In 1866 he was wounded in the battle of Nachod in the German War . During the Franco-Prussian War (1870/71) Braunschweig served in the high command of the 1st Army under Manteuffel . This was followed by other uses until he was appointed commander of the 10th division in Posen on July 20, 1899 . On October 18, 1902 he was appointed Commanding General of the XVII. Army Corps in Gdansk .
