George Adam Neppert

George Adam Neppert (* around 1762 , † after 1847 ) was a German organ builder in Insterburg in the Kingdom of Prussia .

Life

George Adam Neppert was named around 1782 as a journeyman with Adam Gottlob Casparini in Königsberg , for whom he carried out some work in the following years. In 1788 Neppert received the concession as an organ builder in Insterburg . In 1802 he wrote in a letter about 22 new buildings, of which hardly any is known today. George Adam Neppert is known to have had a long legal dispute with Johann Preuss about organ repair. George Adam Neppert became impoverished as a result of the hostilities of 1806/1807 and thereafter. It was mentioned for the last time in 1847.

Only a few works by George Adam Neppert are known. The organs in Wieliczki from 1791 and Griškabūdis from 1804 have been preserved, both in an expanded form and here in bold.
