George Albert Hammes (born September 11, 1911 in St. Joseph's Ridge , USA , † April 11, 1993 ) was Bishop of Superior .

Life

George Albert Hammes received on 22 May 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 23, 1960, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Superior. The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Egidio Vagnozzi , ordained him episcopal on May 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of La Crosse , John Patrick Treacy , and the Bishop of Madison , William Patrick O'Connor .

On June 27, 1985, George Albert Hammes resigned as Bishop of Superior.
