John Patrick Treacy

John Patrick Treacy (born July 23, 1890 in Marlborough , Massachusetts , USA ; † October 11, 1964 ) was an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of La Crosse .

Life

John Patrick Treacy received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Cleveland on December 8, 1918 .

On August 21, 1945, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Metelis and Coadjutor Bishop of La Crosse . The Apostolic Delegate in the USA, Archbishop Amleto Giovanni Cicognani , donated him episcopal ordination on October 2 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Coadjutor Bishop of Cleveland, Edward Francis Hoban , and William David O'Brien , auxiliary bishop in Chicago .

With the death of Alexander Joseph McGavick on August 25, 1948 he followed this as Bishop of La Crosse.

John Patrick Treacy attended the first two sessions of the Second Vatican Council as the Council Father.
