Raphael Michael Fliss (born October 25, 1930 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin , † September 21, 2015 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and Bishop of Superior .

Life

Raphael Michael Fliss was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on May 26, 1956 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of the Superior Diocese on November 5, 1979 . The Bishop of Superior, George Albert Hammes , donated him episcopal ordination on December 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Rembert George Weakland OSB , Archbishop of Milwaukee, and William Edward Cousins , Old Archbishop of Milwaukee.

With the resignation of George Albert Hammes on June 27, 1985, he succeeded him as Bishop of Superior. On June 28, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
