George Galbraith (born December 16, 1955 in Pembroke , Ontario ) is a former Canadian - Danish ice hockey goalkeeper and current coach who has been the goalkeeping coach for the Danish U18 national team since 2008. His son Patrick is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

George Galbraith began his career as a hockey player in the team at Clarkson University , for which he was active from 1973 to 1976 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . The goalkeeper then went to Europe, where he stood between 1977 and 2001 for a total of 24 years for the professional team of Vojens IK in the Danish Elite Series and the second Danish ice hockey league, before finally taking up active ice hockey at the age of 45 stopped. During his playing career, the versatile player has occasionally also been used as a striker and has won three Danish championships with his team (1979, 1980 and 1982). He was also voted AL-Bank Ligaen Player of the Year in 1980.

In the 1997/98, 1999/2000 and 2002/03 seasons, Galbraith was responsible for Vojens IK as interim coach. From 2008 to 2010 he was the goalkeeping coach of Denmark's U18 national team, which played in Division I.

International

For Denmark , Galbraith took part in the 1986 C-World Championship and the 1994 B-World Championship .
