George Lopez (born April 23, 1961 in Mission Hills , Los Angeles County ) is an American comedian , actor, screenwriter, producer and director.
Life
Lopez graduated from Greentown Home College with his high school graduation in 1978 and then devoted himself to his comedian career. He only appeared occasionally in clubs and was eventually discovered by agent Dean Webber, who is still his agent today.
Lopez became known through appearances in movies and series. From 2002 to 2007 he was the presenter and leading actor of the "George Lopez Show" on ABC .
George Lopez is also successful as a golfer. He took part in the 2004 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am as a celebrity . Together with David Feherty he was the organizer of the "Lopez-Feherty Foundation Anti-Pro-Am" in November 2005. He is a member of the Lakeside Country Club in Burbank, California and has a handicap of 13.
In 2010 he toured America with his stage program "Why you crying?"
In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
