Live and act

Georges Anderla graduated at the Columbia University New York for MA and doctorate for Ph.D. In the 1970s and 1980s he taught as a professor at the Institute for Political Studies of the Sorbonne Paris and at the Universities of Prague and Aix-en-Provence . He also worked for government organizations such as the OECD and was Director of Information Management at the General Directorate of the Commission of the European Community in Luxembourg.

During his work for the OECD in the 1970s, Anderla investigated the pace at which human knowledge is developing. He presented his results in 1974 in his work The growth of scientific and technical information. A challenge . He concluded that knowledge from year 1 to 1500 had roughly doubled. According to Anderla's model, further doublings took place up to 1750 (i.e. after 250 years) and until 1900 (after another 150 years). According to later research by Anderla, there was further duplication of knowledge up to 1950 (after 50 years), 1960 (after 10 years), 1967 (after 7 years) and 1973 (after 6 years). As a result, human knowledge in 1973 would be about 128 times greater than in year 1.

The research of Anderla was taken up and continued by several scientists. According to the science philosopher Robert Anton Wilson , knowledge doubled every eighteen months in the 1990s.
