Georges Bénédite
Georges Aaron Bénédite (born August 10, 1857 in Nîmes , France , † March 26, 1926 in Luxor , Egypt ) was a French archaeologist .
He held the chair for Egyptian archeology and discovered the mastaba of Achethotep, a vizier of Pharaoh Unas, in Saqqara in 1903 . He has also excavated several graves in the Valley of the Kings , including grave KV41 in 1900 .
He died shortly after visiting Tutankhamun's tomb ( KV62 ). His death later fueled speculation about a " curse of the Pharaoh ".
