Georges Descrières
Georges Descrières , actually Georges Bergé , (born April 15, 1930 in Bordeaux , † October 19, 2013 in Cannes ) was a French actor .
Life
Descrières, who had taken his mother's maiden name, was a member of the Comédie-Française . The German audience became familiar with the theater great as Athos in Bernard Borderie's film adaptation of The Three Musketeers . After trips to Hollywood, alongside Audrey Hepburn in Stanley Donen's Two On The Same Path , he became known in the 1970s as Arsène Lupine in the TV series of the same name. His last major roles are in 1987 Alexandre Hoffmann, Claude Jade's murderous father in L'homme qui n'était pas là , and in 1989 Pierre-Henri alongside Hugh Grant in Champagne Charlie .
Descrières was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Legion of Honor and Grand Officier des Ordre national du Mérite . In 2013 he succumbed to cancer.
