Georgi Konstantinowitsch Gurjanow ( Russian Георгий Константинович Гурьянов , scientific transliteration Georgij Konstantinovič Gur'janov ; born February 27, 1961 in Leningrad ; † July 20, 2013 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian singer and artist.

Life

Guryanov graduated from Leningrad Art School No. 1 , then studied for a year at the " Valentin Serov Art School " and then left. Since childhood he learned to play balalajka , dombra , piano and guitar . In 1982 Guryanov became a member of the group "New Artists" ( Новые художники ). Guryanov met Viktor Zoi through his mutual friend from the group " Avtomatitscheskie udowletworiteli " ( Автоматические удовлетворители ) Andrei Panov . The two were united by an interest in painting and music, so that a friendship developed. When the band Kino, founded by Viktor Zoi and Alexei Rybin, was reorganized in 1984, Guryanov became the band's drummer and remained so until Viktor Zoy's death and the band's dissolution in 1990. Since 1986 he has also played with Sergei Anatolyevich Kurjochin in the group "Pop-Mechanika" ( Поп-механика ) together. When cinema became famous in the late 1980s, Guryanov did not like being a "pop star", which is why he devoted himself more and more to art. Since the late 1980s, he has also increasingly devoted his attention to the techno , house and club movements. Among other things, he organized the first rave events in Saint Petersburg. He also took part in Timur Nowikow's projects “0 Revolution” and “0 Object”.

In 1993 Gurjanow became an honorary professor at the newly founded Academy of Arts ( Академия Изящных Искусств ) in Saint Petersburg.

Guryanov died on July 20, 2013 in Saint Petersburg at the age of 52 of complications from liver cancer .
