Georgina Cates , after 1995 stage name of Clare Woodgate (born January 14, 1975 in Colchester , England ) is a British actress .

Life and accomplishments

Clare Woodgate made her debut on the British television series 2point4 Children in 1991 . In the film drama A Factual Romance (1995), she played on the side of Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman . For this role she was nominated for the London Critics Circle Film Award in 1996.

In the war drama Die Kriegerin (1998), Woodgate, now called Georgina Cates, played the role of Marianne , a civilian and friend of the soldier Fossie ( Skeet Ulrich ), who wants to fight the Vietnamese with gun in hand. In the British-Indian comedy Stiff Upper Lips (1998) she appeared in a larger role on the side of Peter Ustinov . She also played bigger roles in the black comedy Clay Pigeons - Living Goals (1998) with Joaquín Phoenix and - alongside Julie Delpy , Daniel Baldwin , Alfred Molina and Michael York - in the comedy Some like different (1998).
