No one walked straight ahead is a documentary of portraits of various school stereotypes of a Recklinghausen high school graduate in 1988. It is about Kristina in the Schmittens graduation film at the HFF Munich, which was made in co-production with the Bayerischer Rundfunk and the Westdeutscher Rundfunk .

action

Twenty years after graduating from school, director Kristina meets five of her former classmates in the Schmitten who couldn't have been more different at the time. The “high-flyer”, the “cool one”, the “theater star”, the “top of the class” and the “silence” tell where they went after school and what their everyday life looks like today and what happened to the dreams of back then . Together they went to the same school in the Ruhr area and graduated from high school together. Just 18 years old, they had a lot of ideas about what to do in their future. Now they have all 20 years of this future behind them and realize that in the end everything turned out very differently than planned. In the end, the director states: Nobody walked straight ahead , everyone walked quite “crooked” paths in their lives, but everyone has also arrived somewhere where they have found their calling today.
