Raimund Barthelmes

Raimund Barthelmes (born December 29, 1947 in Jettingen-Scheppach ; † July 12, 2019 ) was a German film editor .

Life

Raimund Barthelmes studied theater studies and in 1971 became editor at Bayerischer Rundfunk . From 1979 he worked as a freelance cutter. His work includes numerous feature films and documentaries. He often worked with the director Doris Dörrie . Since the 1980s, Barthelmes has been a lecturer in film editing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and the Munich University of Television and Film .

The Cologne film festival Filmplus honored him in 2012 with the editing award for his life's work. He died in July 2019 at the age of 71.
