Gerald Finley
Gerald Hunter Finley , OC , CBE (born January 30, 1960 in Montreal , Canada ) is a Canadian opera singer ( baritone ).
Life
Born in Montreal , Finley received his musical training at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Ottawa, the University of Ottawa , King's College in Cambridge (England) and at the Royal College of Music in London.
He is best known for his numerous Mozart interpretations. He sang roles such as Don Giovanni in the opera of the same name, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte , and Figaro and Il Conte Almaviva in Figaro's wedding .
In 2002 he sang in the American premiere of the opera L'Amour de loin at the Santa Fe Opera to Jaufré pack .
Finley is visiting professor at the Royal College of Music, London.
