The edged dragon tree ( Dracaena reflexa var. Angustifolia Baker , syn .: Dracaena marginata Lam. ) Is a variety of the Dracaena reflexa plant from the genus of the dragon trees ( Dracaena ). Selection forms are used as ornamental plants.

Vegetative characteristics
Dracaena reflexa var. Angustifolia is an evergreen, woody plant. It is relatively vigorous and forms a slender, tall trunk . The simple leaves are linear to lanceolate with a length of 30 to 40 centimeters and a width of only about 2 centimeters; this allows this taxon to be distinguished at first glance from most of the other species of this genus of dragon trees used as houseplant . The leaves are bordered in different colors depending on the variety (see below).

- 'Tricolor': The leaves are green with a yellowish-white edge and a narrow red outer edge.

The home of Dracaena reflexa var. Angustifolia is in the western Indian Ocean and includes the islands of Madagascar , Mauritius with Rodrigues , Réunion , Aldabra , the Seychelles and the Chagos Archipelago .

Dracaena reflexa var. Angustifolia is a popular ornamental plant for tropical to subtropical parks and gardens and is also used as a durable houseplant . Specimens of Dracaena concinna (which, however, come from Mauritius ) are often sold as houseplant under the false name Dracaena marginata .
