Sir Gerard Noel Noel, 2nd Baronet (born Edwardes , born July 17, 1759 in Tickencote, Rutland , † February 25, 1838 in Exton , Rutland) was a British nobleman and politician .

He was born as Gerard Noel Edwardes and was the only son of Gerard Anne Edwardes (1734-1773) from his marriage to Lady Jane Noel (1733-1811). His father was an illegitimate son of Lord Anne Hamilton (1709-1748), son of James Hamilton, 4th Duke of Hamilton . His mother was a daughter of Baptist Noel, 4th Earl of Gainsborough . In 1773 he inherited Welham Grove in Leicestershire from his father .

On December 20, 1780, he married Diana Middleton (1762-1823), the only daughter and heiress of Admiral Charles Middleton, 1st Baron Barham, in London .

In 1784 he was first elected to the British House of Commons . In Parliament he sat from 1784 to 1788 as an MP for Borough Maidstone in Kent and from 1788 to 1808 and from 1814 to 1838 as Knight of the Shire for County Rutland.

After the death of his maternal uncle Henry Noel, 6th Earl of Gainsborough , on April 8, 1798, he inherited a substantial part of his property including the family estate of Exton Park in Rutland and took it on this occasion with a royal license from May 5, 1798 Family name "Noel" and its coat of arms.

Due to a special inheritance regulation, he inherited his father-in-law's title of nobility as 2nd Baronet of the Navy when his father-in-law died on June 17, 1813, which he had been awarded on October 23, 1781 in the Baronetage of Great Britain . His wife also inherited the title of 2nd Baroness Barham .

After the death of his first wife, he married Harriet Gill († 1826), daughter of an Anglican minister from Scraptoft in Leicestershire, on May 4, 1823, as a second marriage. After she died in 1826, he married on August 13, 1831 a woman named Isabella († 1867), widow of Raymond Evans.
