Gerd A. Müller
Gerd Alfred Müller (* 1932 in Frankfurt am Main ; † December 6, 1991 ) was a German industrial designer . Müller was best known for his designs for Braun and the writing instrument manufacturer Lamy .
life and work
After training as a craftsman, Müller began studying at the Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden in 1952 . After completing his studies as an interior designer , he became one of the first designers employed by the Braun company. Müller designed various kitchen appliances for Braun. Among other things, the KM 3 kitchen appliance he designed and the SM3 razor became famous. The razor in a slightly revised version Sixtant SM 31 with Hans Gugelot became a worldwide success.
From 1960 he worked as a freelance designer. He designed the fountain pen 2000 for Lamy, using Makrolon , a material that was previously unfamiliar for writing implements . The fountain pen became a classic of modern design and a world success.
